When someone is following a raw food diet, they have vowed to consume plant-based foods that are served in their original, un-heated, uncooked state. People who believe in this diet feel that the food items are considered to be raw, as well as alive. If you are interested in eating a few of these raw food items, you may consider adding to your diet: fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, sprouts, grains and legumes in sprout form. You can also eat certain seaweeds, microalgae and delicious, fresh juices. When you eat these foods in their “live” state, you will gain a variety of nutrients, including vitamins, minerals, amino acids and oxygen. These variables are needed for the body to properly maintain its functions and processes.
